I went into the washroom today and saw that my mom had put a devotional book and two other Christian books about prayer ontop of hte toilet. I asked her about it and she gave me this look, like I shouldn't have anything to say about it, idk.
I'm not even Christian, but my mom and her husband are both very religious and spiritual.
do you think this is at all disrespectful? not to me, but just to the religion itself....and just odd?Is it weird to put Christian devotional and prayer books in the bathroom?
not at all.
No, maybe she suffers from constipation and needs to occupy herself in there. Is it weird to put Christian devotional and prayer books in the bathroom?
It's fine just in case you run out of toilet paper...
No
If i didn't lose my free Bible, I'd read it whenever i got the chance to highlight all the weird things that are in it =)Is it weird to put Christian devotional and prayer books in the bathroom?
People read in the bathroom.
So it makes sense.
Not to me, though. I'd rather read in an easy chair.
It's no different than the many restaurants that post the sports page in front of the urinals.
Yes, those types of pages can clog up the drain after you wipe with them!
It's not immoral or anything like that, but it's undignified. I think we should approach God with gravity, reverence and dignity -- that's why we dress up for church, etc. On the other hand, if that's what you have time for . . .well, as I say, it's not a sin or anything.
That was martin Luther favorite spot he spoke of it often
Devotional? Good reading material while elimination is in progress. What ever it takes to get the point across.
Some read the paper or a magazine.some smoke while on the toilet. Does it matter if you are not Christian? Yet you noticed them there and inquired about them.
The world reads many things on the toilet.
Some are spoken to on the toilet and asked questions. Now that is disrespectful. You need to concentrate to eliminate. But in such a quiet environment you can learn a lot from reading the word of God.
Sometimes I speak to God on the toilet. I ask him many things and I pray at times while sitting there.
God looks at the intent of the heart not what is going on around us.
Religious and spiritual is nothing without the leading of the spirit of God within us. It is the spirit of God that makes us a peculiar people.
