i have a friend who studies Philosophy in college, she is a christian, is there any great book of Christian philosophy or simply a book of philosophy suitable for a Christian minded person?
i would like something light, easy to read, but with philosophical richness and interesting, that she can enjoy reading! :D.
thank you very much in advanceA good philosophy book for a Christian who study philosophy?
You might begin with St. Augustine of Hippo, who actually began the literary tradition in Christianity. He wrote two of the most influential Christian books of all time, City of God; and the Confessions, which is also said to be the first autobiography ever written.
Another one is Pilgrim's Progress. "'The Pilgrim's Progress from This World to That Which Is to Come' is a Christian allegory written by John Bunyan and published in February, 1678. It is regarded as one of the most significant works of religious English literature,[1] has been translated into more than 200 languages, and has never been out of print." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Pilgrim鈥?/a>
Imagine that, a Christian book written in 1678, by a man in jail for preaching without a license, and it's never been out of print.
Nietzsche - Thus Spoke Zarathustra
Every Christian should read itA good philosophy book for a Christian who study philosophy?
If your friend is in college then they can probably study theology as a degree. Theology is basically the philosophy of Christianity. There are theologists for other religious beliefs also. There are Christian theology books that are a good read just check them up online. I also am personally interested in Christianity and philosophy and found theology a good mixture.
On Truth: The Tyranny of Illusion - Stefan Molyneux

read Sartre
The Last Days of Socrates - It reads as a discussion. I would skip any publisher notes and just go to the reading. It doesn't bad mouth any religion it merely gives a simple point of view.
If your looking for intro level, William Lane Craig's On Guard is pretty solid, or Reasonable Faith, which is a little harder of a read. These two books deal with current arguments for and against the existence of God and both are really well done.
If you wanna really dig into some solid stuff Alvin Plantinga's Warranted Christian belief is amazing, but more difficult yet.
Also Alisdar MacIntyre's book After Virtue is a great book in the field of ethics!! Thats a book that should probably be read after taking an ethics course it requires a bit of knowledge of ethics
On Guard is good to start with.
Bertrand Russell.
I quite enjoyed this one.

I haven't read any of Francis Bacon (book was added to the shelf but not read yet) but I have seen him quoted a few times.
Francis Bacon
A little philosophy inclineth man's mind to atheism; but depth in philosophy bringeth men's minds about to religion.
