Thinking about writing a book set in a 'Lord of the Rings' type atmosphere, but involving direct Christian principles and ideals. Does this appeal to you? Why or why not?Do you think combining a fantasy-themed book with Christian principles would work?
You mean like Lord of the Rings, Chronicles of Narnia, Iron Dragons, and even to some extent Harry Potter?
Softly spoken, yes
It takes a very good author to make it work. There are the well known classics, like The Chronicles of Narnia and The Lord of the Rings that have worked, but an untold more that have failed. As well as it can turn out, I suggest to not try because it is much. much more likely to end as a miserable failure.Do you think combining a fantasy-themed book with Christian principles would work?
Yes, I think it would. (: because many people wouldnt want to read christians principles out of something like a bible, its too boring. that would make it much more interesting. its a great idea, go for it. (;
hope this helped, good luck!
Well, it worked with the Chronicles of Narnia.
The point is to not make it overbearing and preachy, so that it's still enjoyable even if you aren't a Christian.Do you think combining a fantasy-themed book with Christian principles would work?
Well, given that the Lord of the Rings was based on Christian principles, I guess I'd have to say that YES, it could work.
The Chronicles of Narnia managed this just fine ;)
I think it would work fine. The fantasy genre lends itself particularly well to allegory in my opinion.
Ever heard of The Chronicles of Narnia? I'm pretty sure it would appeal to a lot of people.
Yeah that's cool.
Ted Dekker did something like that in his Red, Black and White series..and it worked well.
People wouldn't know the diffrence.
