How is the world did you decide to marry a Buddhist?
Get the bible and stick with God. You want to go to heaven and have your whole family there?

"...a collection of three buddhist parables
Each...contains a valuable message in the spirit of zen buddhism.
The first teaches...about generosity and forgiveness.
The second... illustrates how events which can seem unfortunate at first might turn out in the fullness of time to have been valuable experiences.
The third...helps [you] understand the harmfulness of holding a grudge.
...the stories' morals do not come across as preachy or tiresome.
Each moral fits snugly within the realm of childish experience
and does not contradict traditional western values.
promoted for children aged 5-9 years old,
[but] teenagers and adults
can appreciat[e] both the art
and the deep simplicity of the stories."

"one hand clapping: zen stories for all ages"
by rafe martin, manuela soares, and junko morimoto
"...the stories all illumine, stimulate, instruct and ultimately hint at ageless truths...
The selections offer many layers of meaning for different levels of interest.
example: a baby fish asks a wise old fish to explain the sea--'When you swim you reveal its presence. It's just because it's so close to you that it's very hard to see.'"

buddahIm Looking for a buddhist/christian book for a child?
read the book of Siddhartha. changed my life 5 years ago.
wait a ten year old? i'd be very impressed if he can follow the book mentioned. how advanced is his reading level? i don't know any buddhist books for someone his age, although i'm sure there are some.
if he is advanced in reading, also try The Ten Pilliars of Zen Buddhism.
Here's a few age-appropriate books:
Kindness: A Treasury of Buddhist Wisdom for Children and Parents by Sarah Conover
Buddhist Animal Wisdom Stories by Mark McGinnis
Buddhism (Eyewitness Books) by Philip Wilkinson
Prince Siddhartha: The Story of Buddha by Jonathan LandawIm Looking for a buddhist/christian book for a child?
I think this magazine would be helpful for yuor family - Buddhist-Christian Studies http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00007L…
That's like looking for a dropped thimble in the ocean. Christians don't like Buddhists. Just find a book on Buddhism that is easy to read and give it to your kid.
do not confuse him with so many religion thoughts, just leave him alone as he grows up he will decided which will be true religion. just to satisfy your hidden Buddhism ghost dont push it up on the child
um if you're looking for a communion gift you could ask the priest for suggestions. maybe something about Thomas Merton, some incense, multipurpose prayer beads, etc
Pick one or the other.
Your child will have enough confusion in his life.
He may turn from all religion if you don't.
Many have when raised in two religion households.
Important day! Why are you so bent on pushing your kids into cults. Ten years old?! The kid does not know what is happening to him/her. Sounds like child abuse.
IT'S FUNNY HOW THE BRUTAL VIOLENT STORIES IN THE BIBLE ARE ALL DEPICTED WITH A G RATING IN THE CHILDREN'S BIBLES. LOL
Yeah. Good thinking. It's a bad idea to give a 10 year old the Bible. Honestly, no sarcasm/irony involved.
I recommend "Learning the Bible with Pooh"
Bible stories for kids.
How about a science book?
stick with childresn Bibles...these 2 religions dont mix at all
