I read in a christian book awhile back that christians are some of the worst gossipers?

Is that true? The author was making a point about many so called churches. What do you think God's opinion is of such things?I read in a christian book awhile back that christians are some of the worst gossipers?
Old ladies are the biggest gossipers. Churches usually have old ladies. There you go.

sounds like gossip to me.
Everyone Gossips. Put enough people in a group for a long enough aount of time, slap a label on them and they will gossip. It doesnt matter if they are Christians or not.
Are you surprised to find sick people at a hospital?



Then be prepared to find sinners at church. Jesus came to save them, not the righteous (as if there are any).
I think you would be hard pressed to try and prove that 'such and such' group are the worst at any type of sin. I think God hates all sin, but loves the sinners - as we should.

Did you know Christians aren't perfect....Christians are human....and subject to the same flaws as everyone else.......did you know the only difference between Christians and the rest is............Christians are saved by the grace of God, and the sacrifice of Jesus !!!!! Sooooooooo what is the question.!?

I don;t know how one would find such stats. There is not one culture or religion I have seen anywhere in the world where people do not gossip.

So the author knows every Christian in the world and is qualified to make that judgment? And we get accused of being judgmental.
I would say that it is true. While at an individual level, I don't believe Christians are any more or less likely to gossip than any other group (sad), the existence of weekly (or more frequent) social gatherings (church services) with people who share their beliefs is likely to give Christians more opportunities to gossip (at least on a larger scale).



I think God is disgusted with gossip...it is a pointless waste of the valuable time he gave us, it doesn't honor him or demonstrate his love to others, and it often ends up causing harm to more than just the gossiper (who is always harmed by gossipping).



BTW, what book did you read?...if it wasn't "unChristian" by Kinnaman you might find that one interesting too...he identified several concerns with the behavior of "Christians".
