I believe the exact opposite.
Do not pursue the past.
Do not lose yourself in the future.
The past no longer is.
The future has not yet come.
Looking deeply at life as it is.
In the very here and now, the practitioner dwells in stability and freedom.
We must be diligent today.
To wait until tomorrow is too late.
Death comes unexpectedly.
How can we bargain with it?
The sage calls a person who knows how to dwell in mindfulness night and day,
'one who knows the better way to live alone.'
Bhaddekaratta Sutta
The pespective of the person is what matter most. It looks like this person believes in life after death. If that is the case, there is nothng important about now. Religious people believe in iternal life and thats life in future- after death, not now.

I read this christian book called 'a purpose driven life' and the author said you shouldn't live for now?Enjoying the present and living for it are two different things. I once knew a girl who spent all her rent money on pot. This was not very smart as she was evicted for nonpayment of her rent. She lived merely for the moment and it cost her. So enjoy life if you want to, there's nothing wrong with that. But plan ahead for the future. Think of Aesop's fable about the ant and the grasshopper.
Not according to a christian thinking. This is just a brief moment of trial before entering an eternity of either heaven or hell. As a christian you should live your life in planning for eternity. DO things that give you good points with god. Its like going to college so you can work at a hospital instead of mcdonalds.I read this christian book called 'a purpose driven life' and the author said you shouldn't live for now?
Well if you are a chiristian then that means you believe in god and this SHORT life you live now is just a trial period to determine where you will spend ETERNITY...God gives each and everyone of us an option to believe in himor not and hell was made for non believers. So your not living for now, you are living for your futur, 50 years aint nothing compared to ETERNITY
If Rick Warren told me it was Wednesday, I'd immediately check three calendars. He is not the worst of the Supermarket evangelists but he's still preaching intolerance most of the time, in between his misguided prosperity theology.
i read that book
i dont think i finished it
Throw that book out the window. It does a poor job of explaining the gospel.
You should do your own driving and let that Porpoise be
That's why we call them death cults.
So go spend ALL your money on something stupid and wait until tomorrow to pay your bills. You are extremely dense. John 3:16 God Bless
