How is the golden compass an anti-christian book?

I just finished the first one and I want to know what the huge issue with it was. It didn't seem *that* against their god.How is the golden compass an anti-christian book?
I personally don't believe that it is anti-christian. Pullman doesn't say 'God'. He actually says 'The Authority' so I don't think anyone has a completely backed up reason to say that God dies. In defence of Pullman, if 'The Authority' is just another wording, then Phillip Pullman has just expressed his own views through the story.
Art is in the eye of the beholder. Some folks think the magesterium represents the church.

Also, a lot of the controversy is because the author himself made comments that he did not like the underlying christian themes in The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Chronicles of Narnia books. How is the golden compass an anti-christian book?
I found an articale about that debate, and it says that he really has something against that kind of stuff.
Well the person who wrote the book was an athiest. So in that situation he had adam kill god.How is the golden compass an anti-christian book?
well it is just written by an athiest. And in some parts he elaborates it, it's like opposite of the narnia series

hope i could help :)
