What is the best way to get a Publisher for a Christian Book?

I am an Author, I have one self-published book. It is of encouraging and inspirational poetry. What are the best Christian publishers to get in contact with? How should I go about doing it? Any information you have is very appreciated, Thank you. What is the best way to get a Publisher for a Christian Book?
First you have to write well. They may be Christian, but they want to make money. Your words have to be worth buying.

To find a publisher:

Go to a bookstore. Find books like yours. Look inside the front pages to get the publishers' websites. Follow their submission guidelines to the letter.

Look up websites of writers with work similar to your own. See if they mention who reps for them. A short polite mail asking if they can recommend an agent is not out of place. Do not tell them about your book, that's seen as poor manners.

Obey YOG'S LAW: "Money flows TOWARD the writer."

This means NEVER pay to get published or to enter contests or pay a fee-charging agent. NEVER. Obey Yog's Law and you won't get ripped off.

Go to the 808 section of your library which has all the books on writing. Read it. You need to know how the business works.

Above all -- AVOID PublishAmerica! They wave the flag and praise Jesus and present themselves as Christian-friendly, but you won't find a more heartless bunch of greedy blankety-blanks in the whole publishing industry. Just Google their name + "scam" to read the horror stories. They are a print mill, not a publisher.

Here's the report of a Christian writer who fell for their bait and switch:

I mention this because YOU are in their prime target market. Until you learn more on how publishing works you can be ripped off by these and similar sharks.

This online writers group has a fine forum for inspirational writers. They can help you far better in the long term than posting questions here on Yahoo.

Christian poetry is a beautiful and moving expression but there is only a select audience for this kind of writing. This is where self-publishing comes in, and should work well for your poetry book. I would suggest Xlibris. They have a good variety of poetry publishing packages that you can choose from.
