There is a book in my local library called the Christian book of the dead.?

I really want it but i'm scared they will be talking like C.S.Lewis. (complicated). I did manage to read the back and it said that they traveled on the journey of those christians who have died and some how carried on their journey. Could you tell me If there is any point in getting this book and would I understand it.

The Bible is the best book to read. C.S. Lewis books would be good reading. I am a christian and read a lot of books. I study history and it has helped me learn about God in other peoples lives. The more you read the more you will be able to understand what you read. It's like any thing else in life, practice makes perfect. I don't know the book, but you could give it a try. That's what is great about a library, if you don't like it, you return it. It costs you nothing.
Some people have been declared clinically dead and had some sort of supernatural experience. Most claim that this is because of an oxygen deprived brain or some chemical interfering, but in some rare cases, there is no highly probably scientific explanation. (Note I said Highly probable)



Even though I am a follower of Christ, I am a bit too much of a skeptic to give a lot of credit to these stories. The title of the book also sounds way to suspicious to me.



I would ask a pastor or a trusted spiritual advisor if they know of any books that deal with experiences like these and are trustworthy.



But in my opinion, there will still be room for doubt, even reading these books. If there was absolutely no room for doubt, then we wouldn't really have a choice. The evidence may be pointing directly to life after death, or intelligent design, but there will always be a little wiggle room. Otherwise God might as well come down from the heavens and prove that He is there once and for all. We would have no choice but to follow Him. God's love for us is so strong that He gives us a choice, even if our choice leads us away from Him.
