hes in his early 20s and is encountering obstacles, what would be a good christian book for him to lift him up and bring him closer to God?Im looking for a christian book that wil be good for my boyfriend in the coast guard?
My bf is also in the coast guard! So I really wanted to answer this :-]



Me and my guy have been reading this one book called Treasures of the Transformed Life. Its a really neat book to read together and discuss. It deff makes you think about your relationship with God and kinda puts things in a diff perspective.

Easy answer: "Mere Christianity" by C.S. Lewis.



The book originated as a series of radio speeches that Lewis gave to soldiers prior entering World War II. The content is aimed at his age, it boils down Christianity to its absolute basics, and it provides great evidence for belief.

A book that I found was an excellent gift for a man his age was "Been There, Done That, Now What?" by Dr. Ed Young Sr.



It's a great study of the book of Ecclesiastes, a very difficult book for most people, but Dr. Young has a fantastic way of addressing it using people in this day and age.

90 Minutes in Heaven - Don Piper was declared dead in a head on car crash and talks about what he saw in heaven and in his recovery. A Baptist Minister came upon the crash and felt that he had to pray for the "dead guy", a very strange thing for a Baptist! So he got in the crushed car (the body was still crushed in the car) and started to pray and then sang the hymn "What a friend we have in Jesus" and when he got to the part that says "because we do not take everything to God in prayer" Don started to sing along. Apparently the minister had some problems convincing the ambulance and police that "the dead guy is singing". Here are some links, you can get the book at most Christian bookstores.

Definitely not a book filled with religious fictional sh*t (aka a christian book)
Left Behind. I've never read it so I don't know if it'll be good for him.



But Chronicles of Narnia are actually based of the Bible. I like those books anyways.
There are none that I am aware of..Send him a copy of "Conversations with God" This is a non religious book that teaches the truth about God... God bless.
Id get him a pair of miniture Icons he can take with him in his travels
