I'm writing a Christian book, and I was wondering how I can make it interesting for readers, but also at the same time, talking about God, or Christianity? I want it to talk about God, and make it interesting at the same time. How can you make a Christian book better?
I know what you mean. Writing a good book the talks about God is really hard because people always associate Christianity with being pure and not saying bad words and stuff like that, but i've recently learned that it doesn't always have to be like that. It doesn't have to be perfect and flawless. Being a Christian is a struggle, and if you don't emphasize that, no one will read it. This i know as a matter of fact.
I hate to say it, but putting in some of those "immoral" things that society has made up to be glamorous can actually help your writing. The question is in whether or not the protagonist of your story succumbs to these temptations. By showing the outcomes of doing wrong, people begin to apply it to life situations of their own.
I have the same problem. I used to think my writing itself defined me and if it didn't meet my Christian standards it wasn't worth writing. I made a mistake, however. While you may not want to endorse unchristian things in your book, it doesn't mean your characters have to be perfect and boring. Personally, my characters are some of the most dysfunctional messed up people i have ever met, with a bad sense of humor (some of them anyway) but i remember that they're like people; imperfect, but good people. So the question comes down to this: as an author, would i be ashamed for my readers to find out i was a Christian? if the answer is yes, then i would say take a step back and look at what you're writing. Don't compromise your morals for a fictitious book.
I hope this helped.
Place a disclaimer on the front cover informing people that what you have written is purely fiction.
If you really want to go ahead, read some of CS Lewis's Screwtape Letters. The book is very readable. It's by the author of the Narnia series (and a chum of Tolkein).

Make it funny. Like for example use daily things that happen to us and make fun of it and then explain how it would have change if we were closer to God. idk, just ask in prayer my friend.
I dont know exactly what you are writing about but you can add some funny things in it and at the same time make it serious by maybe adding an unexpected event where someone needs God.How can you make a Christian book better?
DON'T write it.
